A DEVOTIONAL BRONZE FIGURINE OF THE HINDU GOD VISHNU
South India, late 19th - early 20th century

Cast in the round, featuring the Hindu God of Preservation and Manifestation, Vishnu, one of the three main Creation deities in the Hindu Pantheon, standing upright, holding four of his traditional attributes, namely the conch shell (shankha), the disc or quoit (chakram), and the lotus flower (padma), mounted on a dark wooden base.
