Yasumasa Morimura is a Japanese photographer, film and performance artist. He graduated from Kyoto City University of Art and gained international recognition in the 1980s, when his works became collected by private individuals and institutions worldwide. His work focusses on reappropriating iconic people and artwork, crossing boundries of time, gender and nationality, and highlighting the ability of human identity to adapt in the fast-changing world.
