Born in Jaffa in 1934, Juliana Seraphim was a Palestinian artist who moved to Sidon, Lebanon, following the 1948 Nakba. She studied under the Lebanese painter Jean Khalifeh and was selected three times to represent the Lebanese government at prestigious events, including the Biennale of Paris, Alexandria, and São Paulo. Seraphim gained recognition for her distinctive surrealist style, termed 'Fantastic Art,' which explored themes of gender struggle, femininity, identity, and elements from Palestinian culture.
