LOUIS VUITTON RUNWAY-STYLE OPENWORK DRESS, WITH LEATHER TRIM AND PLEATED SKIRT SECTION
Made in France, c.2010s, fits EU 38-40 / UK 10-12

LOUIS VUITTON RUNWAY-STYLE OPENWORK DRESS, WITH LEATHER TRIM AND PLEATED SKIRT SECTION
Made in France, c.2010s, fits EU 38-40 / UK 10-12

An exceptionally striking Louis Vuitton runway style dress showcasing a bold interplay of texture, structure and modern craftsmanship. The design combines openwork mesh panels with glossy leather trims and graphic vertical striping in black, khaki and vivid green, creating a dynamic, architectural silhouette. The upper section features intricate woven and perforated elements, framed by a structured ribbed and tooled leather and pvc neckline and zip fastening, while the lower portion softens into a fluid pleated skirt with a self-tie waist, offering movement and contrast to the more engineered bodice. This piece reflects the directional, experimental aesthetic associated with Louis Vuitton ready-to-wear of the 2010s, likely influenced by the house’s runway collections where technical fabrics and leatherwork were combined to dramatic effect. The label has been removed.

A contemporary Louis Vuitton garment representing the house’s evolution from heritage trunk-maker to global fashion authority. Modern Louis Vuitton clothing is characterised by a confident interplay between tradition and innovation, often incorporating signature house codes—such as refined leather accents—alongside directional silhouettes and elevated everyday wear. Under successive creative leadership, the brand has embraced a more fashion-forward aesthetic, blending luxury craftsmanship with streetwear influences, technical fabrics, and bold graphic elements. Pieces are typically impeccably constructed, with a focus on cut, finish, and material quality, reflecting the maison’s enduring commitment to excellence. The result is a highly recognisable and desirable style that balances wearability with status, appealing to both collectors and a new generation of luxury consumers. A highly collectible and visually impactful garment, ideal for editorial styling, fashion archive collections, or statement evening wear.

Material: Mixed media – leather, mesh and synthetic blend.

Provenance: From a private collection.
