The Doorway, Baalbec and The Water Fountain
Ca. 1849 and 1890s
Comprising two printed reproductions of 19th-century works including a lithograph by the well-known Scottish orientalist artist David Roberts RA (1796 - 1864) and an oil on canvas by Tomàs Moragas y Torras, the vertical print featuring a monumental classical archway in Baalbek by Roberts published in The Holy Land, Syria, Idumea, Arabia, Egypt, & Nubia (1842 - 1849), the horizontal print by Moragas y Torras depicting a casual gathering by a water fountain, both prints mounted, framed and glazed.
The prints respectively 39cm x 30cm and 30cm x 39cm, 54.5cm x 44cm and 43cm x 52.5cm including the frames
