Timurid Iran, dated 6 Muharram 849 AH (14 April 1445 AD)
Persian manuscript on cream-coloured wove paper, 314ff. plus 4 fly-leaves, each folio with a variable number of lines from 12 - 19 of elegant black ink nasta'liq script, grouped in three parallel columns, the side column on the edge with 12ll. of diagonal chalipa nasta'liq script and with cornerpieces decorated with gold and polychrome floral sprays, double intercolumnar and interlinear gold rules throughout, catchwords, significant words and phrases picked out in red, headings in gold within cloudbands reserved against a hatched ground, illuminated headpieces in gold and polychrome, the colophon towards the middle bearing the date Wednesday 6 Muharram 849 AH, remargined, in a brown morocco leather binding with gilt-stamped central medallions and doublures of marbled paper.
