Oman or Yemen, Arabian Peninsula, late 19th century
Each with a curved double-edged steel blade of tapering form, the hilts densely decorated in fine silver filigree, one with repeating large rosette medallions, the other with flower heads and diamond pattern on chevron ground, the reverse of each hilt plain with loop attachments, the craftsmanship and decorative elements suggesting a likely Omani or South Arabian origin, reflecting the distinctive silversmithing traditions of the Arabian Peninsula.
