A MUGHAL-REVIVAL SEVEN-STRAND PEARLS AND SPINEL BEADS NECKLACE WITH POLKI DIAMONDS AND RUBY-SET PENDANTS AND CLASPS

Northern India, late 19th - 20th century

With seven concentric strands in increasing order, strung with rows of minute cultured pearls (untested), at the ends of each string spherical spinel beads, in the centre seven flower-shaped pendants set with faceted polki diamonds and caparisoned with ruby beads and clusters of pearls, featuring two triangular openwork 20th-century gold clasps set with rubies and faceted diamonds, fitted with a modern, adjustable silk and metal thread string.
