Of knee-length tunic form with straight sleeves and a slit collar, tailored from rich magenta satin silk and elaborately embroidered throughout with floral motifs in white, yellow and black silk thread using couching, satin stitch and seedwork techniques, the decoration composed of stylised rosettes and almond-shaped buds within lattice and trellis borders, the front and hem with symmetrical vertical bands of floral sprays, the neckline framed by radiating blossoms and almond forms, the reverse similarly decorated with rows of paired rosettes and flowering stems, the interior lined in red cotton and finished with a yellow silk brocade facing at the hem, the overall composition demonstrating skilled needlework in regional North Indian or Gujarati traditions of festive dress.
