Ottoman Turkey or Provinces, second half 19th century
A rectangular madder red velvet fabric densely decorated with floral motifs in silver appliqué, including rosettes, blossoms and leafy sprays arranged around a central roundel, with metallic fringe and two multi-coloured silk and metallic thread tassels suspended at each end, lined with coarse linen and fitted with suspension loops to the top.
