Launched in 1955 and designed in collaboration with Pan Am Airways, the Rolex GMT-Master was created to meet the needs of pilots flying long distances across time zones. The GMT-Master quickly became the quintessential travel watch, with its ability to display multiple time zones simultaneously. The Ref. 1675, introduced in 1959 and produced until 1980, is one of the most iconic models in Rolex’s storied history.

This Rolex GMT-Master Ref. 1675 from 1973 showcases all the hallmarks of a classic tool watch, with a more understated look thanks to its black aluminum bezel insert, which enhances the overall versatility and vintage appeal.

Unlike the more commonly seen “Pepsi” bezel, this Ref. 1675 is fitted with a black bezel, giving it a sleeker, more versatile appearance. The bidirectional rotating bezel is used to track a second time zone, a feature originally designed for aviators but equally useful for international travelers today. The black bezel, in excellent condition, adds a refined touch to the watch, appealing to those who prefer a more subtle aesthetic while retaining the iconic functionality of the GMT-Master.
