Each lavishly decorated in vivid enamels and gilt, the first painted with a yellow vase flanked by two birds and surmounted by a bat on a dense floral ground, the rim with a gilt border of blossoms and butterflies, the second produced for the Islamic market with a central panel inscribed with gilt Arabic calligraphy surrounded by sprays of blossoms, the rim with flowerheads and fruit on a gilt ground
