Qur'anic leaf of Surat Al-Ahzab (chapter 33, verse 41 to 44) with 9 lines of maghribi script in dark brown ink on parchment.The calligraphy is accented with vocalization marks in orange, red and blue as well as gold verse markers.
The sura reads:
وَلَـٰكِن رَّسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ ۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمًۭا يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ذِكْرًۭا كَثِيرًۭا وَسَبِّحُوهُ بُكْرَةًۭ وَأَصِيلًا هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُصَلِّى عَلَيْكُمْ وَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتُهُۥ لِيُخْرِجَكُم مِّنَ ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِ ۚ وَكَانَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَحِيمًۭا
… but is the Messenger of Allah and the seal of the prophets. And Allah has 'perfect' knowledge of all things. O believers! Always remember Allah often, and glorify Him morning and evening. He is the One Who showers His blessings upon you—and His angels pray for you—so that He may bring you out of darkness and into light. For He is ever Merciful to the believers.
Maghribi script was predominant in North Africa and Muslim Spain from the 11th to the 14th centuries.
