The rectangular top opening to the front and back with four frieze drawers, resting upon two pedestals, each with two drawers above straight legs joined by stretchers, the wood with deep warm colour

Provenance: the private collection of William D. Montalbano (1940-1998), a prominent American reporter, editor, bureau chef and author, active across North and South America, Rome and London, affiliated with several publications including Miami Herald and Los Angeles Times. Laureate of numerouns prestigeous awards, present in the People's Republic of China in Beijing as a bureau chief at Knight-Ridder Newspapers 1979 — 1981.

The desk has been purchasedduring a family outing in the local antique shops in Beijing.
