Miss Worth was among the prominent British couture and high-end ready-to-wear houses of the mid-20th century, producing elegant occasionwear that combined refined tailoring with luxurious fabrics for a fashionable international clientele. This dramatic, mostly hand stitched, full-length evening dress is executed in lustrous fuchsia silk with a fitted, sculpted bodice and slender shoulder straps, the silhouette emphasising the waist before falling into a structured skirt.
