Next Thursday May 15th our Asian sale titled Cherry Picked will take place! Primarily composed of treasures from China and Japan, but also Korea, Vietnam and Tibet, the sale covers a wide geographical area and a similarly broad range of media: ceramics, bronzes, jades, and even late 20th Century auction catalogues and Japanese prints by the likes of Toshi and Hodaka Yoshida. Suffice to say there is something for everyone!

We are on view at 188R Hammersmith Road from Friday 9th May until the sale on Thursday the 15th, so come along and see these wonderful pieces if you can...

The sale covers a wide geographical area and a similarly broad range of media: ceramics, bronzes, jades... to prints by the likes of Toshi and Hodaka Yoshida

As the title suggests, a reference to cherry blossom season, the spirit of spring is found throughout the sale in works inspired by floral patterns and designs. This is especially exemplified by one of the star lots, Lot 50 – A Chinese Famille Rose Lime Green Jardiniere:

Lot 144 - Japanese Lacquer Miniature Display Cabinet, Shodana, Meiji period, £400 - £600

On the contemporary side, standouts include the beautiful globular porcelain vase by Fuiji Shumei (1936 - 2017, lot 150) and prints by Hodaka Yoshida (1926 - 1995) and Takeda Hideo (b.1948).
